Formation of the company through Mr. Carl von Michalkowski. The business trades with cereals, fats and natural casings. The office in the heart of the historic dock area – with its close proximity to the free harbour and the specialist firms for the storage and dispatch of natural casings – was the optimal location for the company.

Martin Wessling starts working as an employee at the company Carl von Michalkowski. Before he had a job as a commercial clerk in Bremen. At the same time the company specializes in trading with natural casings. The sale of the goods went exclusively to importers.

Martin Wessling becomes business partner at Carl von Michalkowski and also personally liable partner.

1959

Martin Wessling takes over the company as the sole holder after Mr. Michalkowski died of a disease.

1964

Reinhard Wessling starts to work in the firm after having finished his apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer.

Due to changes in the industry and the increasing competition the company starts to sell the goods on its own authority and delivers directly to the factories. |
1981 |
Martin Wessling becomes president of the “Zentralverband Naturdarm” – the central association of natural casings. |
1984
|
The company Carl von Michalkowski moves from the free harbor of Hamburg to a self-owned production plant in Wiefelstede. There the two Wessling brothers begin to train personnel and build up a modern casings processing site.

Mark Wessling, the son of Reinhard Wessling, starts to work in the company. He should support the sales department plus to take over the direction of production. |
2000
|
Martin Wessling resigns – after almost 20 years – as the president of the central association of natural casings. He becomes honorary member of the executive board.

Gregor Wessling, the son of Martin Wessling, enters the company. |
